Christine O. WilligChief Executive Officer
Christine Willig joined Key Data Systems as CEO, where she is responsible for sales, marketing, product, technology, finance, and all operations of this growing business. Coming from McGraw-Hill Education, Chris served as president of the K-12 division. Prior, she served as senior vice president of product, leading all product development and managing an extensive portfolio of PreK-12 curriculum and instructional materials — print and digital.
Prior, Chris was the CEO of Math Solutions, the leading provider of mathematics teacher professional development in the U.S. In 2010, She led Math Solutions through a successful acquisition to Scholastic, Inc. Before that, Chris built and served as president of the company that launched CODIE-award-winning netTrekker.
In recognition of her outstanding work in the education industry, she was awarded the Lamplighter Visionary Award from the Association of American Publishers in 2015. Her degree is from the University of Notre Dame, but she has lived a lifetime of dedication to learning and personal growth for her customers, her staff, and herself. Chris resides in Southern California with her husband, John. She is the proud mother of a blended family of seven children.
Deryl SealeChief Technology Officer
Deryl has been developing effective software products for 20 years for companies big and small, including Edusoft, where he worked with David Fraioli and Harvey Goodman. His interests span every aspect of product development — from concept to coding to deployment. His passion is using Agile development practices to make teams productive.
He credits his experience co-founding Intel-Assess as critical for leading great software teams. When Intel-Assess was acquired by Wireless Generation (now Amplify), Deryl served as Executive Director of Engineering at Amplify Education, where he led several software teams delivering a range of online assessment products.
In 2016, Deryl, along with four partners, formed Fluence Learning, whose mission was to provide school districts with assessment content that influences learning. Deryl served as the CTO. In 2017, Fluence Learning joined forces with Key Data Systems.
Deryl holds BA in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
Harvey GoodmanStrategy and Innovation
Harvey brings more than 25 years of experience in education to his leadership of Key Data Systems. He taught sixth grade in LAUSD, was a product manager for WorkWise, and served as VP of Edusoft Product Development for Riverside Publishing.
Harvey realized that educators needed more and better-quality formative assessment content to use with their assessment technology, so he co-founded Intel-Assess, which would grow to support more than 120 school districts. When Intel-Assess was acquired by Amplify, Harvey served as Chief Product Officer for the assessment division.
In 2016, Harvey, along with four partners, formed Fluence Learning, whose mission was to provide school districts with assessment content that influences learning. Harvey served as the CEO. In 2017, Fluence Learning joined forces with Key Data Systems, where Harvey manages strategy.
Harvey holds an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts and a BA in economics from Duke University.
Ketan ParekhVice President of Finance
Ketan comes to Key Data Systems as a seasoned finance executive with 15 years of experience in technology, hospitality, and manufacturing industries. He is responsible for all aspects of finance, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, M&A, debt management, etc.
Ketan strongly believes that a great education system is critical to solving some of today’s biggest challenges. He is excited about providing teachers with high-quality assessment tools that elevate the quality of education.
His key competencies include budgeting and forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, accounting, financial reporting, debt financing, business and data analysis, business strategy, and mentoring, among many others.
Ketan graduated from the B Tech program in civil engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, India. He also holds an MS in structural engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA in finance and international business from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Rob MetzlerMarketing and Sales Operations
Rob Metzler joined Key Data Systems as Chief Revenue Officer in 2014. He began his career at IBM in sales, which led to many roles in which Rob directed the sales and marketing efforts of numerous high-growth companies in the education, SaaS technology, and professional services industries.
Before joining Key Data Systems, Rob provided business development and marketing consulting services. Currently, Rob is responsible for the company’s marketing and sales processes to continue supporting accelerated growth. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Communication. Rob lives in Charlotte with his wife Heather and their four children.
Rob StealeyChief Development Officer
Rob Stealey joined Key Data Systems in 2014. His career started in public accounting with Ernst & Young and transitioned into sales, channel development, and consulting throughout his career.
Rob specializes in developing growth strategies that significantly enhance revenue and profit objectives — creating innovative solutions that get results faster with greater impact. He prides himself on establishing and maintaining strong relationships, always ensuring that his clients' expectations are met or exceeded. His current responsibilities include developing and managing company growth through partnership and corporate development strategies.
Rob graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He resides in Charlotte with his wife Cassie and their three children.
Shannon Wells, Ph.D.Founder and Chief Academic Officer
Dr. Shannon Wells is one of the founders of Key Data Systems and currently serves as its Chief Academic Officer. She oversees the Content, Product, and Research Division, including the Inspect® item bank, an assessment solution that serves over nine million students across the country.
It is her goal to ensure the districts and schools she works with gain a clear understanding of how assessment can be used to effectively drive instruction and provide students with specific feedback, with an emphasis on new ways of assessing student learning.
Along with her team, she works to make sure teachers, schools, and districts are equipped with the resources they need to help students reach their academic goals, providing tools that allow educators to maximize student achievement.
Shannon received her Ph.D. in social/personality psychology with an emphasis in quantitative data analysis and developmental psychology at the University of California, Riverside.
She resides in Southern California with her husband, Doug. She is also the proud mother of Mikaela and Andrew, who are currently a senior and sophomore, respectively.
Sheridan DoerrVice President of Education Partnerships
Sheridan has spent more than 20 years in education, including 10 years as a classroom teacher. She brings her keen understanding of educators to her current role. Sheridan moved from the classroom to publishing after her work on a state-level assessment committee. She spent 10 years at Riverside Publishing, where she was a content specialist and product manager for the company's formative assessment bank.
Sheridan joined Intel-Assess in 2011, where she directly supported districts in assessment development. When Intel-Assess was acquired by Wireless Generation (now Amplify), Sheridan led the Assessment Creation Team.
In 2016, Sheridan, along with four partners, formed Fluence Learning, whose mission was to provide school districts with assessment content that influences learning. Sheridan served as the EVP of Educational Partnerships. In 2017, Fluence Learning was acquired by Key Data Systems
Sheridan holds a BA in elementary education with a minor in mathematics from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.
